I’m in Singapore again. Yeah. Like home from home. This time there’s an office offsite so the vast majority of the department was here. And I was so happy cos I know everybody and we’re in a place that I feel really comfortable in.
Like a typical offsite, didn’t really learn as much as I expected, even though we had loads of fun. Primarily we learnt how not to use bullet points to make presentations and “think”, rather we should use the more visual and freethinking mindmaps. We even got a free trial program.
Most people left over the weekend but I’m staying another week, as are a couple other people. Didn’t make any plans with them, went out walking on my own. Took a bus to Orchard Road and did a fair bit of shopping, surprisingly. Bought a nifty speedball that sticks to the bottom of the powerbook and allows it to breathe a little. It slides the powerbook all over the desk, it’s real cute.
Also bought some books at a book fair, a neoprene cover for the powerbook, a couple jars of kaya jam and a few studded bracelets.
Had foot and shoulder massage at the usual place at Marina Square. Dinner was at the korean buffet next to the massage place.
